Popular theatre companies will be making their way to Birmingham Botanical Gardens this month to celebrate the garden’s theatre season. Theatregoers will be treated to open-air productions of ‘Treasure Island’ and ‘Hamlet’ whilst surrounded by blossoming flowers in our gardens this summer.

July marked the start of theatre season with Chapterhouse Theatre Company’s captivating performances of ‘Sherlock Holmes’ and ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. The popular Shakespearian play was a huge success and sold over 700 tickets!

Pirates will be sailing to the gardens on Wednesday 13th August, as Rain or Shine Theatre present ‘Treasure Island’. The mystery of the buried treasure will unfold before your eyes while you soak up the summer sun in the gardens.

Young actors will also be given the chance to take the spotlight on Wednesday 20th August as Base Tikes bring their adaptation of ‘Hamlet’ to the Botanical Gardens. The local theatre group will bring a modern twist to classic play.

Productions of ‘Treasure Island’ and ‘Hamlet’ will start at 7.30pm. For more information and to book tickets visit our events page or call 0121 454 7835.
