New Rainforest Storytelling for SchoolsAugust 29, 2014 11:00 am
Brand new and exciting! The Botanical Gardens has organised two special days of rainforest storytelling aimed at Primary Schools.
Jump in the canoe, hold the oar and travel with storyteller Ana Maria Lines deep into the rainforest. Ana will lead you in to a magical adventure down the Amazon River from Brazil through to Colombia. Along the way, every flower, bird and fish will have a story to tell.
Friday 5th December is offered to Years 1 to 3, whilst Friday 12th December is offered to Years 4 to 6. Sessions are offered at timed slots for a maximum of 30 pupils each time:
10:15am to 11am, 11:15am to 12pm , 12:30pm to 1:15pm or 1:30pm to 2:15pm.
Sessions will take the form of the delivery of multicultural stories and songs from the rainforest, blended with music and dance to engage the audience. Join us for this unique and magical imaginative journey in to the mysteries of the rainforest.
The price for a session on either of the two dates costs just £62.50 for a maximum of 30 pupils. Entry fees to the Gardens apply in addition and you can choose to lead the rest of the day yourself at our self-guided school rate, or why not add a teaching session led by one of the Gardens’ Education Officers for a little bit extra? All our prices and teaching session options are found on-line at http://www.birminghambotanicalgardens.org.uk/education/education-for-schools.
