Now Recruiting: Head Receptionist

Birmingham Botanical Gardens is on the look out for a head receptionist to take responsibly for sales, products and staff members to ensure the smooth running of the busy reception area.   

The ideal candidate will have outstanding written and verbal communication skills in order to successfully manage a team of staff members, volunteers and suppliers. Previous practice in supervisory roles, and sales and administration experience in a customer-facing environment are essential.

The head receptionist will be able to work efficiently as a part of a team and will work on their own initiative to make important decisions. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, hardworking and naturally organised with customer care at the forefront of every decision.

The role will see you taking responsibility for the Birmingham Botanical Gardens sales, finances, merchandise displays and the instruction and supervision of allocated staff, students, work experience pupils and volunteers.

You will assist staff members with the operation of IT services, which means that knowledge of Microsoft Office is a must. A high level of customer service skills is crucial as the head receptionist will be responsible for welcoming visitors, providing entry and assisting with any customer enquiries.

The position is a permanent post that will require the candidate to work 37 hours a week. Flexibility is essential as regular evening and weekend work will be required, for which time off in lieu will be given.
