Botanical Gardens glasshouse renovations underway
We are delighted to announce that much-needed repairs to our glasshouses are underway and have been made possible thanks to the generous support of our visitors, members and Trustees.
The money has been raised as a part of the Trustees’ wider campaign to raise £1 million to carry out repairs and introduce new features to the gardens. £25,000 was raised at the Trustees’ Ball in October and the charity Ladies’ charity Luncheon in May. We’ve also received additional funding from kind donations and the money raised from the on-going Glasshouse Appeal.
Sponsors can support the Glasshouse Appeal by buying a replica pane of glass for £100. Once purchased, people can write their names on it and hang it in reception. It could make the perfect gift for a loved one or to remember someone special.
Once the project is complete, and the glasshouses have been restored to their full glory, the names of all of the kind supporters will be incorporated into a piece of artwork to hang in our glasshouses to say thank you.
As you walk past the renovation work, you’ll be amazed at the craftsmanship that is required to restore the glasshouse’s heritage. Please bear with us during this time and we’re sure that you’ll agree that the minor disruption to the gardens will be well worth it once the results are revealed.
