Trustee positions available

If you love our gardens as much as we do then why not consider becoming a Trustee and using your passion to help us build on the success of this fantastic venue.

Birmingham Botanical Gardens is one of the jewels in Birmingham’s crown that has enticed and enchanted countless visitors for almost 200 years with its beautiful gardens and glasshouses filled with exotic plants.

This gives us a unique opportunity to share our knowledge and understanding with the wider community. As an educational charity, we are always looking for new ideas and opportunities to help preserve and grow the gardens for future generations by striving to constantly improve our services and to introduce new features at the Gardens.

The ideal applicant will possess a background or interest in (1) events and/or the performing arts or (2) retail and/or fundraising. We are looking for someone to help us build on existing revenues and identify and help us to develop new ideas.

The trustees, who have a chief executive and small staff reporting to them, have varied backgrounds and skills across a wide range of disciplines which add value to the Gardens and its charitable objectives. The trustees meet throughout the year to discuss how our charity goals are being met while overseeing a variety of projects and offering insight and personal expertise.

Previous charity experience is not required as induction and training will be provided.
