General Information for Non-Birmingham Schools

Pre-booking for all school groups during term-time is essential, even if you wish to be self-guided without any facilities. We take bookings for a maximum of 60 Non-Birmingham Local Authority school children. There is a charge made for all school admissions, and the current rate is available in the 'School Prices & Payment' section under the 'Education' tab above (also available to view in the menu options at the bottom of the page).

Bookings can be made for schools from outside Birmingham Local Authority and Independent Schools via the following details:

We need your completed form straight away to guarantee your booking date. Please note that once you have booked a date with us and you cancel your booking within 4 weeks of your visit date, the full charge will be made. We regret to advise that this applies to all bookings made regardless of the reason for your cancellation.

Birmingham Local Authority Schools

For schools belonging to Birmingham Local Authority (including Academies who were previously Birmingham Local Authority controlled), bookings and enquiries are dealt with via a separate organisation, currently the Outdoor Learning Service. You can contact them directly for their current prices and service to schools via the following details:

Please note that visits for groups during school holidays and weekends are usually offered on a self-guided basis. However, if you are interested in adding an educational activity or tour to your visit, please contact us to find out what's available.

Teacher Pre-Visits

We strongly recommend that all teachers carry out a pre-visit, even if you have been to the Gardens before as things change. For free admission during the Gardens' opening hours seven days a week, simply bring along headed paper from your school, signed by your Head Teacher with the date of your visit, to show to the main reception desk. Please note that if you bring any guests or family members with you, they will be charged admission.
