Edgbaston Family Fun Day

Calthorpe Estates is celebrating 300 years of the estate this year, and will be hosting a free, family event on 17th September to mark the milestone with the local community.

The event will comprise of vintage rides and traditional children’s entertainment including Punch and Judy, face painters and a children’s trail around the gardens.

In addition, visitors will be able to participate in craft workshops, shop at the farmer’s market or simply enjoy food and drink from independent traders while enjoying a programme of entertainment on the bandstand.

Ahead of the event, local schools will be creating miniature gardens to be entered into a competition which will be judged and announced at the Edgbaston Festival.

Local bakers will also be able to get involved with the celebrations at the Great Edgbaston Bake Off, which calls on people to create a nature-inspired dessert which will also be judged on the day.
