The Daffodil Society Annual Show 2022

Daffodils are popping up in gardens – Spring is on the way.

After being founded at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens in 1899, we are happy to announce that The Daffodil Society is returning to the Gardens to host their annual show for 2022.

We would like to encourage Society members, friends and members of the public to visit the gardens and our colourful display of exhibition daffodils.

Daffodils are one of the most popular of all garden plants and appear in over 80% of gardens, where they create a real welcome splash of colour to brighten the days and indicate that winter is over. Gone are the days when daffodils were only yellow. The modern hybrids come in many different colours and combinations of colours and range in size from exhibition flowers 5″(12.70cm) across in diameter to dainty miniatures barely 1″(2.54cm) across and growing only a few inches in height.

Come and witness a full range of cultivars, representing all the types and colours of show flowers. There is no charge for members attending the show and no entry fees for exhibitors. This important two-day event provides opportunities for members to show their flowers, meet other members, and acquire experience and knowledge.

If you haven’t yet made your mind up why not make a decision now and put the date firmly in the diary. Birmingham has a lot to offer for those thinking of having a weekend away and the show will, of course, be the icing on the cake!!
