The Birmingham Botanical Gardens hosts the Birmingham Community Food Festival on September 15th 2013. The Food Festival is organised by several groups across the City, including the Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Growing Birmingham, The Conservation Volunteers and The Parks and Allotments Service of Birmingham City Council.
The Festival has four main themed areas:
- A Community Hub: If you are involved in growing as part of a community group or individual across the city, then this is the space for you. A mixture of national and local organisations come together to provide networking and support opportunities for many groups across Birmingham and beyond.
- The Horticultural Show: An 0pportunity for all to display and show their prize winning produce. Sponsored by Mondelez International and run by The Conservation Volunteers, The Horticultural Show is a must for all growers, whether novice or more experienced. If you are an allotment grower, garden holder or part of a community group, why not enter the show? Further information and an entry form can be obtained from TCV.
- Local Growers and Producers: For those who like their food local, then this is the area for you, locally produced gifts and food items, including plants will feature in this area.
- Local Food: The local food area, showcases some of our local hot food suppliers, ranging from social enterprises through to small businesses. Come along and try something new on the day, street food, vegetarian, all tastes catered for.
