Friends of the Gardens

The Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens was formed in the 1970s by a group of enthusiastic members who were passionate about the Gardens and wanted to be more involved.

The objective of the Friends is to help ensure the preservation and development of the charity by supporting fundraising events and specific projects. Previous Friends’ events have raised money for the completion of projects, including the refurbishment of the lily pond in the glasshouse, the restoration of the fountain and the development of the Memorial Garden.

Led by a ‘Friends’ Committee we are responsible for administering all the monies raised by the Friends.  We meet at least quarterly.

If you are already a Member and would like to help the Gardens flourish and are:

  • willing to give your time to help with activities that provide additional support to the gardens.
  • enjoy fundraising & helping with promotional activities
  • engage with visitors to gather important feedback

we would be delighted to have you on board.
