Courses and Workshops

Come and learn Photography in the beautiful surroundings of the Gardens on a Saturday workshop!

How do I know what courses are on offer?

Please use the links at the bottom of the page to direct you to the current course information.

What do courses cost?

Costs for our courses vary and you will find them by using the links at the bottom of the page to direct you to the current course information.

How long do courses last for?

The length of each course varies and you will find this information by using the links at the bottom of the page to direct you to the current course information.

How many people on a course?

We have a maximum of 12 people on a course so you can get more attention from the tutor.

Do I need to bring a camera and any equipment with me?

Our courses are aimed at digital SLR cameras and we recommend that you try and have a play with your camera beforehand so you can come armed with your question for the tutors! You will also need a memory card, fully charged batteries, suitable clothing and footwear. Please bring a lunch if it's an all-day Saturday workshop that you'll be attending or you may wish to purchase lunch in the on-site Pavilion Tearoom. You might also wish to bring a flask if you require a hot drink during the course. Some courses do require other specific equipment and you should double-check the current course descriptions for the requirements as requested by the course tutor.

How do I enrol for a course?

The Gardens has an on-line booking system where you can choose your course and pay for it with a credit or debit card 24 hours a day! Just click on the links at the bottom of the page which will take you to the bookings section. Pre-booking is essential as places on all courses. Sorry, but we do not send out booking confirmations due to limited staff resources.

Can I cancel or re-arrange the course that I have booked on to once I have enrolled?

If you cancel your place within 28 days of the start date of your course, then we regret to announce that we do not offer refunds. Transfers to other courses instead, are subject to the discretion of Gardens' Staff and are normally only offered in extenuating circumstances. For all other refund enquiries, the Gardens' policy is: 28 to 40 days before the course start date: 50% refund offered, over 40 days before course start date: 100% refund offered. The Gardens reserve the right to cancel any courses that do not attract enough numbers, up until a few days before the course is due to start, whereupon a full refund or transfer will be offered.

Where do the courses take place?

Courses are held in the Gardens' main building complex and please be aware that accessibility to the room is currently via a spiral staircase only. Please park on the Gardens' car park on Westbourne Road and enter the main reception area.
