The Easter fun doesn't stop there, since there will be face painting, a children's trail, egg hunt, crafts, hair braiding, glitter tattoos, a doll's clothes sale and pony rides too! Look out for the Easter Bunny on the day too! Activities run from 11am to 3pm and there will be a small charge for some activities. Special offer! All under 16 year olds are admitted free to the Gardens for this event! Normal Gardens' entry fees apply for all other visitors (Gardens' Members free).
Weekend Animal Volunteers Needed Urgently!
Volunteers are being sought by the Education Department to help to look after a new collection of reptiles and invertebrates including Bearded Dragons, Corn Snakes and Giant Tropical Millipedes. Ideally you will have some experience of dealing with these creatures already or you will be willing to learn how to feed, handle and generally look after these fascinating creatures. You must be able to work independently either at weekends or during school holiday times, and hours are flexible from as little as once a month to as much time as you are able to offer us. We regret that we are not able to offer any payment or travel expenses for this voluntary role, but you will be given full training, be able to enjoy use of the Gardens whilst you are volunteering, be entitled to discounts in the Gardens' Shop and Tearoom and you will be invited to volunteer coffee mornings where you will get the opportunity to meet and socialise with other volunteers. We can give provide you with a written reference to help you with obtaining paid positions elsewhere and you would be part of a team that work and volunteer in one of the most beautiful visitor attractions in Birmingham! Find out more about this role by searching our Volunteer Opportunities on our website or call the Education Manager, Deborah Knott on 0121 450 5093 for an informal chat.
Spring Bulb Display
The Spring Bulb Display is a collection of bulbs which can be viewed up close and in the dry when the weather outside is not so favourable. The display will be in the Front Entrance from Friday 17 January and should continue to look good for a number of weeks. Come and admire Galanthus, Crocus, Cyclamen, Narcissus and Lachenalias to name a few.
Birmingham Botanical Gardens offer the perfect setting for all occasions. We have four magnificent venues in beautifully decorated listed buildings, and fully equipped state of the art facilities ensure success of the event. The Gardens are approved by the Birmingham Registry Office as a venue for civil ceremonies.
