Part Time Retail Assistant

We are currently looking to recruit a part time Retail Assistant in our gift shop.

If you have enthusiasm, initiative and an outgoing approach, we'd like to hear from you about the role of Retail Assistant for The Shop at the Gardens.

This is a permanent part time post, subject to a three month probationary period. The vacancy arises due to a member of staff moving elsewhere in the country and requires someone with both enthusiasm and retail experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties include:

• Customer service
• Stock pricing, re-stocking and ensuring that displays are always well presented
• Operating tills, cash, cheque and credit card transaction handling
• Routine security
• Supervision of a weekend student
• Any other duties which may arise

Key holder with responsibility for opening, closing and cashing up

RESPONSIBLE TO: Retail Manager

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Two years retail experience. An outgoing and friendly personality is required for this role

HOURS: 8 days per month including a rota to cover opening every day of the year including, in the summer, to 7pm. Alternate weekends.

REMUNERATION: £5.70 per hour. Enhanced rates for Sundays and public holidays. Paid monthly by credit transfer.

PENSION: Contributory pension scheme available after six months.

HOLIDAYS: Four weeks per year of average hours plus public holidays pro rata.
