The Botanical Gardens runs weekend workshops as well as daytime and evening courses in its purpose built study centre.

New CPD Programme for Teachers

A brand new programme of CPD courses for teachers starts this September at the Gardens’ Study Centre. Run a range of themes including Developing School Grounds for Play, Outdoor Provisions for Early Years, Composting and Creating a Wildlife Area to name but four, the courses will support teachers to develop and make better use of their school grounds, gardens and wildlife areas. The courses will use the award-winning Growing Schools Garden as a stimulus that was designed by Chris Beardshaw and is used by 15,000 school pupils who visit the Gardens for curriculum-linked plant-based studies each year. Weekend Workshops - Summer Term 2009

The Study Centre runs a wide range of workshops taking place at weekends for adults. Lasting half or a full day, they are run by expert tutors on a range of subjects from drawing to horticulture, practical photography to floristry. Pre-booking for all courses is essential. NEW Children's Birthday Parties

We are now booking exciting parties for children aged between 4 and 11 years, on a range of outdoor environmental activities. Brand new to the Gardens, the parties will be educational and lots of fun! Parties will be held at weekends and during school holidays and will include a variety of activities from pond dipping to plant explorers, bugs and beasties to teddy bear fun.
