Syringa meyeri ‘Paliban’ This small leaved lilac is a member of the Oleaceae family and can be found on the Lower Pinetum bed by the Herbaceous Border steps.

This lilac is a slow growing deciduous shrub, eventually becoming a medium sizes shrub of dense habit.

Its pale lilac – pink flowers open from deeper lilac buds, and it produces abundant, elegant panicles of flowers from an early age.

Lilacs will grow in any well drained soil, and love full sun, most are highly fragrant and are the quintessential scent of an English summer.

Pruning consists of removing old flowers after flowering, and pinching out strong growing shoots if necessary to produce a compact plant.
