Teulon Cottage

Teulon Cottage is the home of the Green Man. It stands within the Cottage Garden, is built of red brick, and was designed by Samuel Sanders Teulon. Built in 1847 as a lodge house for an estate worker on the Calthorpe Estate, it was brought within the Gardens in 1930. With its decorative brickwork, mullioned windows and gargoyle faces, this romantic little house really belongs in a fairy story, although here is serves to provide an interactive experience about plants, which all children can enjoy.
