1. Book in Advance

It’s never too early to start planning! If you have been given the task of party planner this year, booking ahead will save you time and stress. Getting the party booked ahead of the Christmas countdown will also allow everyone to get the date in their diaries and ensure that you get your preferred date. Especially if you have a location in mind, booking ahead of time is great to avoid disappointment. Don’t forget that many places offer Thursday evening parties as well as the usual weekend slots! Booking in advance also allows for site visits to be arranged, so you can try before you buy and check the venue is perfect for you and your entourage.

2. Have a Theme

What better way to get in the festive spirit than with a little help from a themed party. Many venues will have themed events, decorating the location for added glamour and excitement. It is important to consider this if you have an idea of how you would like to spend your evening, so decide whether you are going for elegance or a full-on Christmas extravaganza. Keep in mind the dress code of your location too, to avoid the disappointment of reindeer or Santa being turned away!

3. Find an Ideal Location

Whether you plan to car pool or share taxis, finding a location that works for everyone is a top tip. A central location is usually preferred, so that transport is easily organised and fair for all. Especially as it is Christmas time, and most guests will want to enjoy a tipple or two, ensuring everyone is able to return home safely should be a priority. Alternatively, are there hotels nearby? If accommodation is important to your guests, a central location is also ideal for this.

4. Shared or Exclusive?

Something to consider when organizing the Christmas party is whether you would like to celebrate privately, or in the company of others. At shared nights, your entourage will have their own tables in a room of other parties. This is a popular choice with smaller parties and a great way to celebrate with others and have a fabulous atmosphere. Alternatively, exclusive evenings, where the whole room or space is for your entourage, is an option for larger companies or groups. This is a great option to celebrate with all your team on a more personal level, and enjoy each other’s company. Consider the size of your party, as well as the budget allocated, when deciding whether to go shared or exclusive.

5.Great Food

It wouldn’t be Christmas without delicious food and all the trimmings! Decide whether you would like a more formal, sit down meal, or whether something more casual like a buffet will suit your party. Most events will put on a classic turkey dinner, but it is also great to have alternative options for those who are saving themselves for the big day! Our top tip here is to consider your budget and the type of celebration you wish to hold.
