Success at AGM
Birmingham Botanical Gardens is pleased to announce its positive results from this year’s Annual General Meeting (AGM). Trustees’, staff and members all attended the meeting to discuss the future of the gardens and to see the results from the last financial period.
Staff have been kept busy as day visits increased by 19% in the last 12 months. Educational trips have also improved as more schools joined our gardens to learn about our impressive plants and to visit our range of exotic animals and birds. Income from education has increased due to the Botanical Gardens partnership with Birmingham Metropolitan College, that offer a wide range of horticultural courses.
Subcontractor, Ampersand, that provide banqueting and catering services for weddings and corporate events, has received an increase in event bookings. Sales from the shop and the gardens also saw an increase.
Botanical Gardens staff and Trustees’ are thrilled to announce the progressive results. Plans are already being put into place for numerous events to take place in our gardens in 2015. Visitor experience is always at the forefront of all decisions made at the gardens and we’re looking forward to increasing these figures further!
