Trustees’ Ball help raise money for Glasshouse Appeal
Our second annual Trustees’ Ball took place on the 2nd October with nearly 200 guests at the gardens helping raise funds for the Glasshouse Appeal.
The raffle and auction proved to be a huge success and raised £5,000 on the night, which will go towards restoring our glasshouses in all their glory.
The event was hosted in the Garden suite, exceptionally decorated with floral displays designed by Aaron, one of our talented gardeners. Adding to the magical atmosphere were musicians from the Birmingham Conservatoire, who serenaded guests in the glasshouses.
Throughout the evening, guests were entertained by the BBC’s very own gardening aficionado Steve Brookes, who had the audience in hysterics by sharing a whole host of unusual gardening tips including using household products to keep the cats at bay by spraying a teabag with Ralgex, and planting it.
Guests danced the night away to music from the Bev Bevan band, which brought the end to a truly delightful evening.
You can contribute to our Glasshouse Appeal by donating £100 to sponsor a pane of glass which you can write your name on and hang it at reception, which will remain there until all the glasshouses are refurbished.
