Birmingham Opera Company at Birmingham Botanical Gardens

Opera lovers are invited to a special event at the Gardens on Saturday, October 17 2020, where singers from the avant-garde Birmingham Opera Company are to stage live, pop-up performances in the grounds.

After seven months in the online realm, soloists and duets from the renowned, award-winning company will be heading to the grounds 11 am until 2 pm, where they will perform short extracts from some of the world’s most popular operas.

The opera company is known globally for its innovative and exciting productions, performing in spaces such as warehouses, shopping centres and railway stations, and it promises opera at its most basic, raw, powerful and fun.

James Wheeler, chief executive, said: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Birmingham Opera Company to the Gardens and are looking forward to them entertaining our visitors in a fun, and safe, way. We can’t think of a better combination than the beautiful surroundings of the gardens in their autumn glory and live music.”
