A Very Victorian Garden Party – A Fun Family Weekend

A Very Victorian Garden Party - A Fun Family Weekend

Hold tight as we travel back in time for a Very Victorian Garden Party!

Join us Black Night Historical brings history to life and transports the Gardens back to the Victorian era!

We have some very special historical figures on our guest list, as we prepare to welcome Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, author Charles Dickens, Fox-Talbot the Photographer, gardeners, sportsmen and women, intrepid explorers, Mrs Loudon the artist, and for those with lexicons for pillows, an 1890’s Pteridologist (now you’re intrigued and need to look it up!) Oh and of course local celebrity George Dawson, (the founder of the Aston Hall and Park Company, and the Shakespeare Memorial Library).

  • 11am:  Singalong Victorian style
  • 12 noon: Fashion Show
  • 1pm: Charles Dickens introduces a new work
  • 2pm: Croquet and games
  • 3pm: Afternoon Tea with Queen Victoria in our pavilion on West lawn

There is a rumour that a band will be playing to welcome her Majesty at the Bandstand, and The Queens Regiment will be on hand to escort the Queen as she perambulates the grounds before taking refreshment in the Royal marquee.

Never fear, Bogie Theobald the rat-catcher will be on hand keeping us all safe, and guarding the teas, cakes and sandwiches in the Café ready for your arrival.

A fantastic family day at the Gardens where you will learn, laugh and make some magical memories with your loved ones.
