Group Visits & Group Bookings

Visit one of the UK’s only remaining independent Botanic Gardens, which has remarkably survived  provide a perfect blend of green space, making for a perfect day out for large groups.

The Gardens has over 7000 plants to discover across four Victorian Glasshouses and spectacular outdoor Gardens including: two Alpine Gardens, the Japanese Garden showcasing the National Bonsai Collection, a Pinetum, the Adventure and Treetops playgrounds, and a rolling lawn overlooking our bandstand.

Great food, coffee and deserts are on offer from our onsite cafe, and we provide parking for cars and coaches. Visitors are also welcome to bring picnics.

Our regular events programmes of live music, family activities, walks and talks, and exhibitions will add even more value to your visit. Check our What’s On page.

Why not hire one of our lockable picnic huts? Each provide a fantastic base for your group during your stay; whether you’re looking for a discrete space for lunch, a place to safely store belongings while you explore the Gardens, or are simply looking for some periodic shade or shelter.

Exit via our beautifully stocked Plant and Gift Shop for the perfect ending to your visit.

Admission Prices for Groups

From 8 April 2024, the rates for groups are as follows:

  • Standard: £7.50
  • Concession (Student, Disabled Visitor*, Over 65): £6.50
  • Child (5-16 years): 4.95
  • Under 5: FREE
  • Group Leaders / Coach Drivers: FREE

* Free ticket for companion available.

As an independent charity without regular funding, your visit helps the Gardens to keep on growing.
