‘Seed Lights’ Drop-in Art Workshop

Join artist Saranjit Birdi on 4th and 5th November in an exciting workshop to create images for ‘Seed Lights’ a light projection event with animation, music and poetry. The projection will light up the walls of Winterbourne House & Garden on Friday 1st December.

‘Seed Lights’ is set in winter amidst cultural and religious festivities such as Diwali, Hanukka and Christmas and will explore Flora and Divine Light. At a time when regions in the world are undergoing crippling wars and conflicts, ‘Seed Lights’ searches for that which unites us as human beings, flora and light. This combined-arts work will be an exciting ensemble of visual art, music and spoken word with guest collaborating artists. ‘Seed Lights’ follows on from Saranjit’s exhibition of paintings and sculptures, ‘The Secret Life Of Plants’ at Winterbourne this year.

Saranjit’s public art works in Birmingham on themes of nature and universality include sculptures ‘Under The Sun’ in Handsworth (2010) and ‘The Last Leaf’ in Castle Vale (2018), as featured in the book ‘Birmingham’s Public Art’ by Jonathan Berg ( November 2023).

Dates: 4 & 5 Nov 2023
Workshop times:
11am – 12:30pm  &  1pm – 2:30pm
Suitable for all ages, no experience necessary.

This worksop is included with a valid general entry ticket to the Gardens.
