The Rusty Players’ Orchestra

The Rusty Players’ Orchestra is a community of musicians who are dusting off their long-forgotten instruments to get back into playing as an ensemble.

It has created a space for amateur, adult musicians to hone their skills in a low-pressure environment, being open to people of any skill level regardless of how long it is since they last picked up a bow, reed or mouthpiece.

Rusty’s choice of repertoire steers away from classical, leaning more into music from films, television, and games. This creates high energy concerts loved by the musicians and audiences alike. Currently the South Birmingham Rusty’s are taking a trip to the world of Broadway, playing medleys from Hamilton, Chicago, Les Misérables and the Blues Brothers. As they say, there’s no business like show business.
