Youth Strings Project – Lunchtime Showcase

Birmingham Botanical Gardens are thrilled to be joined once again by the Birmingham Youth Strings Project.

The Young Strings Project started over 25 years ago at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. It is based on the Suzuki methodology.

Dr Suzuki believed that everyone has talent, which has to be nurtured. The children start at 4 or 5 years old and leave after year 6; during the time they are in the project, they receive individual and group lessons, choir, Kodaly/Dalcroze classes and orchestra when they are ready. They all go on to enjoy music making and many of the former pupils are now leading professional string players.

This short performance will take place on the bandstand and is included with general admission.
