Course FAQs

How many people on a course?

We have a maximum of 12 people on a course so you receive more attention from the tutor.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Anything you need to bring for your course will be outlined on the course description. If nothing specific is mentioned, we only ask that you wear suitable clothing and footwear, as we will venture out into the Gardens come rain or shine.

How do I enrol for a course?

Enrolments must be done via the Gardens on-line booking system where course titles can be chosen and paid for with a PayPal account, or credit or debit card, 24 hours a day. Just click on the links at the bottom of the page which will take you to the bookings section. Pre-booking is essential for all courses and you must be at least 18 years old to enrol.

Can I cancel or re-arrange a course that I have already booked?

If you cancel your place within 28 days of the start date of your course, then we regret to announce that we are not able to offer refunds. 28 to 40 days before the course start date: 50% refund offered, over 40 days before course start date: 100% refund offered. Please note that all cancellations will incur a £3 administration charge.

Transfers to other course dates are normally only offered in extenuating circumstances.

The Gardens reserves the right to cancel any courses that do not attract sufficient interest, up until a few days before the course is due to start, whereupon a full refund or transfer will be offered.

Where do the courses take place?

Courses are held in the Gardens’ Study Centre, which is a building within the Gardens’ grounds, but separate to the main complex. Please park on the Gardens’ car park on Westbourne Road and enter the main reception area. (Parking is free, but car registration numbers must be entered at reception on arrival to avoid parking charges.) Reception staff will then direct you to the Study Centre.

Are refreshments provided?

Short breaks will be included during the course. However, refreshments will not be provided so please bring what you need, or why not visit the Pavilion Tea Room.
